The Bergdorf Goodman Holiday window display is out of this world this year. Many years ago I was in NYC for my first ever white Xmas and I was stunned by the amazing window displays. This years Holiday windows at BG 57th Street store is like a trip to the MOMA. This years theme is A Compendium Of Curiosities’ and the windows feature references to M.C Escher & Lewis Carroll along with Victorian elements, a touch of couture and pop culture. Im not sure what to look at first. If only I could see it with my own eyes..♥

At a xmas party lastnight the topic came up – the topic of icelandic ‘things’. What immediatelty came to mind was Bjork and from that came the thought… what does it mean to be or look icelandic? Besides being scandinavian Iceland is famous for a few things – ‘The Blue Lagoon’ being one. The hot 40·c pool of water is pale aqua in colour and looks very inviting – steam is seen rising from the water around the clock. Its rather mystical….It is also famous for soothing aching bones and muscles and helping with some medical condition. The art & culture scene is treasured and highly active and the city has a sophisticated yet quiet outlook. Here’s what we found on the research trip earlier today….

Snippets from the icelandic mood board…..♥

Ive been tracking this duo for some time now, its taken me a while to find out more about them. worth a trip to the website, it is a visual feast, full of colour and hard edge design.

Love the use of perspex and the collaboration of traditional textural elements, strong colourful graphics with a bold hard surfaced aura.. interesting mix for those who swing between styles.
