What I love most about some of the work I do is that I get to review lots of products, books, music and my favourite food. Sometimes something will stop me in my tracks. This was one of them…♣
The book SEVEN by Jacqueline Leo crossed my desk a few weeks ago and I sat down with it a few nights ago and started to read it, I realised that sometimes the most complicated of concepts can be the simplest parts of our lives on earth. This book is fascinating, while anyone who knows me knows I love non fiction books. I naturally grabbed the opportunity to read about this magical number SEVEN. What I wanted to know more than anything was how was this going to relate to me, my life, my day and like any naturally inquisitive person – would it make sense. It certainly delivered….♥
This book has really struck a nerve. While facts are all around us day in day out, this read combines relatable concepts and prolific examples of concepts in action throughout the average persons life. What I like most is that it is in sections, the ideas make sense and are relatable to your own life. The concepts get the mind thinking and give you some ideas that you can translate into your day to day life, almost like testing concepts on yourself. Nothing like a little challenge for ones self.
The book SEVEN is an interesting read. While the author Jacqueline Leo has held a number of high profile positions in publishing and television, namely becoming editor of family circle magazine in the US and editorial director of the New York Times Womens Magazine Group she has now stepped into the realm of writing for the wider public.
‘Artfully designed and full of enough insights to keep you engaged in conversations at the water cooler for years, SEVEN will provoke, enlighten and amuse.’ extract from book cover.
